Consider a blank spreadsheet . And it's made up of columns and rows. The columns are labeled as A, B, C, D through the alphabet .

We can see a little form field here that says add 1,000 more rows at the bottom. We can select that and say, actually, I just want 21 more rows.

What's interesting about a spreadsheet is that the intersection of every row and column is a cell.

In this case four. So this is C4. C4 right there. And this one down one row and AC across one column is the next letter and the next number D5.
